Serves My Purpose
As with most technology, it has sooo many features I don't intend to use. But I've simplified my use of this machine using only the very basic selections and I love using it. It has lots of bells and whistles for those who are more designer oriented!

Hits all the right points, but uses excessive tape
This model adds three-line printing, and can also do two-line printing, which less-expensive models cannot do. So it's a logical upgrade from the less-expensive units. I have some of the tape-labels mounted on my sailboat identifying rigging, and have seen no deterioration (from weather or UV) in over seven years. As with ALL the Brother labelers, it ejects more tape than the printed area, so every label printed wastes about 3/4" of tape even at shortest label-length setting (buried deep in menu, and worth finding to save SOME tape!)....Is this just to sell more tape? or can this be modified in future models????

Easy to Use and Flexible
I was very happy to find the PT-D400 label maker to use in a fairly level of organizing files both at home and at work. I like the way it can sit on my desk and be available instantly. It has many features that allow custom labels. It has received multiple uses including file labels, filing box labels, recycling bin labels, and even labeling food given to family and neighbors as gifts. The little symbols to include on the labels are also fun. Nice product and nice size.
