Bach: 18 Leipzig Chorales

Equally adept with both the cello and organ, Alexander Knyazev, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory specializing in cello and Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory specializing in organ has long focused on the organ and cello repertory of J.S. Bach. Lauded for his innate musicality and interpretative skills, Knyazev's first public acclaim came as a cellist. This collection presents the rarely performed chorale preludes composed by Bach during his stay in Leipzig in the last decade of his life and not published until after his death. Recorded in 2012 in the Riga Cathedral in Latvia renowned for it's historic pipe organ.
