Bit of history, bit of romance, lots of action

I fell in love with the characters who were well thought out and had distinct personalities. The time period went from modern day to 1840 and it was cool how the author took us there. I loved the unique spin on the love triangle that I have no idea how the author will play it out. I won't give away the big secret nor the twist at the end, but can say it was all worth it. I'm so happy there will be 2 more sequels in this trilogy because I can't stop thinking about what's going to happen and if they'll ever find each other and make it back. Because one of the characters tends to cuss a lot, I'd say this was a YA book BUT for the older YA readers. I loved the history that fell into place without being boring in the least. I feel bonded with the main character Mae because of her love of animals and trying to stay vegetarian in a meat meat meat world.
