Amazing Love: The Story of Hosea [DVD]

There is no profanity in this movie! Hallelujah. Don't expect Hollywood graphics. But it is a good, wholesome movie. A small group leader takes a group of kids camping and after an argument between two of the girls, he decides to tell them the story of Hosea. The story he tells is much embellished with details that are not specific in the bible, but it's done in such a way, that it helps get the point of the the story of Hosea across to the kids. One kid even says, "I don't mean to interrupt you, but I've read Hosea, and I don't remember any of this." The leader admits that the boy is correct, but that he's just setting up one possibility to how the events that led to Gomer being auctioned off, could have happened. Parts of the film are actually filmed on site in Nazareth, Israel which brings great authenticity to it. The book of Hosea is a good message of God's Love for His children even when they are unfaithful, and this movie does a good job in bringing that part of the truth to life.
