The Prairie 300 was introduced in 1999 as the successor to the legendary Bayou 300, featuring updated styling, improved ergonomics, and a more modern chassis while retaining the proven 290cc air-cooled SOHC engine that had earned a reputation for bulletproof reliability. The 76mm bore and 64mm stroke with 8.6:1 compression ratio produce approximately 20 horsepower and 16.6 ft-lbs of torque. The CVK32 vacuum-operated carburetor provides smooth, consistent fueling at any altitude. The 5-speed constant-mesh transmission with automatic centrifugal wet clutch and reverse makes operation effortless. The 4x4 model adds selectable four-wheel drive for enhanced traction. Kit includes all O-rings, gaskets, jets, needle, mixture screw, and float valve. NBR rubber resists ethanol.
