Rubber-Cal’s Pure Gum Rubber is an affordable and eco-friendly sheet rubber material with high elasticity. This flexible rubber is naturally sourced from the latex of rubber trees and is free of any synthetic rubber materials. Production of gum rubber leaves almost zero waste, allowing for an affordable and eco-friendly rubber material. This gum rubber has a natural tan color that won’t rub off or leave unsightly stains. Because the tan gum rubber is non-marking, it is ideal for abrasive applications in industrial and commercial settings alike. Natural rubber sheeting generally has a higher rebound rate than its synthetic counterparts, and is best for applications that require high elasticity. The natural rubber durometer or hardness is typically much lower than other synthetic types of rubber. A higher durometer indicates a hard rubber material, while a lower durometer indicates a more elastic and flexible rubber. This natural rubber material has a durometer of 40A, giving is a soft surface and excellent pliability. This low durometer is the key feature of Rubber-Cal’s flexible gum rubber, as it has a high tensile strength and can handle a great deal of physical stress without taking damage. Though natural gum rubber doesn’t do well with oils and chemicals, the rubber material does have good resistance to organic salts, ammonia, acids, and alkalis. The flexible rubber can also work well in temperatures from -20° to 170° F, making this elastomer sheeting great for industrial applications that require more “bounce back.” For a flexible elastomer with high adaptability, nothing beats natural rubber sheets. The high elasticity of gum rubber means that the material can be stretched and compressed without losing its shape. This 1/2” natural rubber is the thickest option available and works best in abrasive applications. The flexible rubber has better resilience than the harder alternatives, even when the soft rubber is stretched. And due to the natural tan coloring, the rubber material will never rub off or leave residue on sub-surfaces.
