HOBILL 982 Large Capacity BLACK External SSD USB 3.0Hard Drive Typec-Computer/Laptop: Small enough to fit onto the palm/pocket. Plug and Play so system recognizes it. It came with a 11 inch usb-A to usb-c cable. I just purchased a “Type-c to HDTV 3-in-1 adaptor” with a usb-c connector to the MacBook and then connect the usb-A side of the cable that came with the SSD drive to it and I'm all set. Works well. No formatting needed on my MacBook Air 13. I didn't backup. All I did was select all photo files from “PHOTOS” and paste them onto the SSD drive or/folder and boom! File transfer begins. It started fast but then seems to slow down. Thus, it took a while to complete (4 days). I think because I have over 42,000 photos and videos combined. But it works! —that easy and simple. Fast delivery. I definitely recommend.
