it's glass double wall, not vacuum seal, it's safe and comfortable to hold bottle with boiling water inside, the inside strainer holes are adequate, if holes were smaller would better at filtering, it still works great, a very small amount of tiny minuscule particles get thru, when drinking tea, consuming a few tea particles might be beneficial, also will fit in car cup holder, i recommend
