While assembling this, at first I thought that perhaps I had two "left" bottom tubes instead of a "right and left" one because I couldn't figure out how to get the large holes in the top of the tubes to be both angled in the correct direction. Then I called the company, and while I was talking to the customer service rep I had an "aha" moment (really--a "duh--I should have known that" moment!, LOL!) You merely have to FLIP the tube around, end over end, and the holes will angle in the other direction!!! (I thought I was good as visualizing things, but apparently not!) The directions don't state this--they probably assumed everyone would figure this out--but I wonder how many folks gave up in frustration (like I almost did) and returned the item to the store!
I was a little concerned that, with such a low price, that this would not be a well-made item , but I am so glad I went ahead and tried it (knowing Walmart has such a good return policy). I think this must be the same unit that I saw that was selling for much more, under different names, at sporting goods stores and online, because the basic photo and design of the unit is EXACTLY the same. (Perhaps made in China and then resold under various name brands?) It is easy to assemble and works well.
Two of our 4 adult sized bikes are sized such that they both can easily fit in the stand next that with a different bike, the handle bars got in the way of the other bike, so I merely turned that bike around and put the rear wheel in the holder. It works well to hold up bikes, even without a kick stand, with either the front or rear wheel.
Hope this helps.
