My Rottweiler does not mind it being applied to his nose. It works short term so I have been applying it twice a day. He has dry eye disease that causes a dry crusty nose. I researched treatments and found this to best the best thus far. He does not lick it off and does not upset over the mild odor.

This product has been around so long for a reason. It started out as a veterinary product, but became popular for humans a few decades ago, after farmers realized how great it was for their hands. I love to use it in the winter on my feet, hands, dry patches of skin, and even on my lips. Nothing softens and soothes like it. Just a couple of applications can remedy many cases of dry, cracked skin. I used it this winter and did not get any of the cracking that normally happens around my thumbnails in the winter. It is unscented, which is great if you have allergies, or just have a favorite perfume that you prefer to the scent of a lotion. It feels a lot like petroleum jelly (like Vaseline) - because that is a major component - so you probably don't want to put it on your hands right before touching your phone screen or handling a glass dish. It's great to apply at night - or before putting on socks - so that you wake up with much improved skin.
