This is a heat treated sapphire, it is a nice step up from costume jewelry. The seller was straightforward about the gemstones, which I appreciate. The earrings are about one carat each. In the sunlight they have a little sparkle. They are a deep blue stone set in sterling silver. They appear to be a good value. These are going to be offered to my daughter for prom- something nice enough she can wear for years as a momento of her night. They are versatile and can be worn everyday (without fear of losing them because of the price point), but can also be worn on formal occasions. They come in a blue box- but if you are gifting you will want to open the box and remove the dessicate/ take them out of the small plastic bag they are in and place them in the foam. It would make for a nicer presentation. If you have an earring box to use, even better. These could easily look like a much more expensive gift if the packaging were improved. The box they send with it is ok- but designed for a set with a ring and a receiver might think you kept the ring for yourself and only passed on the earrings.

These earrings are so beautiful! They are even better than the picture describes. They were a few days late- but things happen, that’s life! I’m so happy they got here and they were worth waiting for. Thank you so much!
