Runs small and shrank so much it's unwearable

Order three sizes larger than what you expect to need. I ordered a men's XL as a gift for my partner, and one cold wash and delicate/lowest-setting dryer cycle later, it barely fits me, and I am a 5'7" 150-pound female who normally finds a men's L to be comfortably roomy. Extremely disappointed that my partner will never even be able to try this shirt on because the sizing and shrinkage are so problematic.
