Born in Bogota, Columbia, Silva has a raw individual flair to his painting that comes from his vivacious personality and his multicultural experience. His family moved to Florida when he was a teenager, and he struggled with the culture differences. By chance he was enrolled in an introductory art class in his new school, and he began to experiment with painting. When a painting won an art show and was displayed in the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, Silva began to sell his paintings, enabling him to attend Savannah College of Art and Design where he is currently studying. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions.
