The Tool that You Don't Think You Need But You DO!

Never in my life did I ever think I would purchase a carpet rake; in fact I didn't even know they existed until I did some online research on methods to remove indentations on a carpet after moving a piece of furniture. There are cheaper models available (e.g., from Home Depot) but user reviews indicated that they broke more easily or just didn't do the job. This version from Walmart features a metal collapsable handle with the business end riveted on to the handle. It won't resurrect worn out carpet, but it does do a nice job bringing life back to those areas that bear the most traffic, or carpeted stairs that vacuuming just doesn't seem to be able to do the job.
