On May 20, 2012 my son was KIA in Afghanistan and I was desperately seeking mending of my shattered heart but never expected it would come in the form of transformation. I met the Marlowe's on May 20, 2017 exactly 5 years following the death of my son through the Iraqi Children Foundation at the “In Their Shoes” 5k. As Teeba spoke and told her story I wept and my heart was stirred. I fell in love with Barbara, Teeba, Dunia and the Iraqi people that day and left with a strong desire that everyone hear her story, one that could bring peace to a world hopelessly seeking it.
