As expected, it was packaged with minimal packing materials in a very small box of questionable quality arriving in fair condition. Instructions are minimal, but one can complete assembly going on just the diagrams however things become questionable in the last few pages. This is where frustration and deductive reasoning come into the finishing assembly process. All parts have scuffs from shipping and minimal packing materials. The factory applied blue thread lock comes off like cheap paint when the hex bolts are threaded into their perspective holes so I recommend buying some automotive grade blue thread lock ($2-$5) and apply it to each bolt hole per instructions to fix this issue. I did have one bolt hole that had manufacturing burs that prevented the bolt to start threading, I got cooperation with a hammer on the allen tool that was seated into the top of the hex bolt. This bench is very narrow causing it to be extremely tipsy on carpet so I strongly recommend using the provided anti-tip straps, and hardware, as to non-carpeted floors, if kids will be a part of the equation, definitely use the anti-tip hardware, if not, it's sturdy enough to not tip under normal adult use. If it seems uneven, it is equipped with leveling feet to correct this. As a just for looks decor item it will last for generations, under normal adult use perhaps a year, with children perhaps a few months. I'm impressed with the height of the bench and the protruding top bar, I expected a head banger for a six foot tall person, but there is plenty of head clearance, now get out your headache medicine, ice pack, and obscenities if you are say six five or taller. It is exactly as advertised and shown by the seller, and was quickly shipped (under 48 hours). For quality vs price, this bench is on price point at $40, I'd certainly not pay more. I can fit nine pairs of shoes, three under the bottom shelf, three on the bottom shelf, and three on the top shelf. This is plenty enough space for my shoes and any guests I have over. I think the top bar is ridiculous in the regards of using it for coat hangers as this will definitely cause the bench to tip over when garments are applied to the hangers. The side doorknobs are cheap quality, but work well for hanging a single coat and a purse on each one. With the aforementioned in mind I would not recommend this product to anyone nor would I purchase again unless it was better redesigned with higher quality materials. What is online is one in the same at various price points. As it is, I'm not going to return it because I need something for the empty space.
