Neoprene rubber
Fits nicely and does help with IT band pain. I wish it had the same soft material on the inside as it does on the outside. I understand they left the inside plain neoprene rubber to prevent it from slipping but I don't think it would as it is positioned right above the knee. As it is, the rubber sweats and gets irritated. Then it becomes itchy. The outer surface is a soft woven material and I believe with the same material on the INSIDE, the IT band would be just as effective and 100% more comfortable.
