Mellow 14" Quickbase Bifold Metal Platform Bed Frame with Steel Slats, Black, Queen

I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was given a free Full Size Best Price Mattress New Innovated Box Spring Platform Metal Bed Frame/Foundation to review. The box came and it was really heavy. I was dreading opening it as I thought I was going to have to build the metal base. I was very surprised when I opened the box and I slid out two base pieces that were folded in half. Each piece unfolded and the legs were already attached. I was even more surprised when the only package of parts was a small package that had 10 wing nuts, 2 spacers and 2 bolts. I had this frame together in less than 20 minutes. Each base unfolded and I placed the ends into the slots and spun on a wing nut (2 for each side) so for the 2 bases that was 8 wing nuts. Then I placed each base upright and slide them next to each other. The 2 large bolts slide between the 2 bases with a spacer on each end of the base and done. This is a great feature for anyone when moving. It makes taking the base apart a breeze; they refold so they will take up much less room than a regular frame. The legs have soft feet with a gripper type material to prevent sliding on the floor. The frame edges are rounded so you don't have any sharp corners to worry about. There are 3 legs on each side of the frame, so the center ends up with 6 for a full size frame which makes this really sturdy. The instructions state it will hold up to 1000 #. The top spring portion is smooth so you won't get any snags on your mattress or bedding. The base is 14” high so it will be great for using sweater totes to slide under it for extra storage. The frame itself had about an extra 1” on each side of where my current mattress sits so for the newer, fuller mattresses this will be just right. I have to say that I was not sure what a mattress base was and now I know that with the base you do not need a conventional box spring as this would make your bed too high. With a 10” mattress and the base you are about 24” off the ground. The base gives your mattress a nice firm feeling to it, but not hard. There are even holes on the end so you could attach a headboard to it. The base came in black. I would like to see them have one in white and maybe a bronze would be nice. I gave this a 5 star rating for all of the above reasons.

I just received the “Best Price Mattress® New Innovated Box Spring Platform Metal Bed Frame/Foundation” in the queen size and so far it is great! The assembly was incredibly easy. It took about 10 minutes from start to finish. When you first open the box you pull out two folded up pieces of frame, then you unfold the frames and legs and screw together, that's it! It also comes with all the tools and hardware you need to assemble it. This frame fits a queen-sized mattress with a little bit of room leftover on the side, which is nice if you have one of those really thick mattresses. The frame is set up about 14 inches from the ground, which is great if you want to store some things underneath. I was worried this frame would make noise when you shift around at night but it was great and quiet! There is support all over this frame so you don't have to worry about your mattress sagging through and you don't have to have a box spring either which is great. If you do decide to use a box spring, just know that your bed will be pretty high up. The only problem I had with this bed when trying to see how easy it was to pack up in the event you have to move was the fact that once the bed is folded upright, it unfolds pretty easily. I wish there was a latch for it to stay closed but this can be easily fixed with a piece of Velcro fabric around it and it worked perfectly for me. This steel frame felt very sturdy and feels like it would last a long time. My 8 year old was jumping on the bed and it didn't move at all. Bottom line, this frame is great!
