The disks are not sticky enough

The disks need to be stickier, especially considering a fan is blowing air down on them, and any dust in the air over time will render them useless. I opened them up after a few days to check on the pad and saw a few of the tiny gnats run across the sticky surface unbothered and fly off. A smell of citrus or apple to them might also help lure them in faster, too. Also, for these traps to be the most effective, you'll need to run them at night in a darkened room. I do like how the timer can be set to do this automatically.

Not a reliable house fly trap

We bought this to catch primarily “house flies. “ It has only one caught since we bought after over two weeks sitting in our kitchen and then by the back door. It should probably not be advertised as a fly catcher with picture of a fly on the box. It has caught moths, a mayfly , and several gnats. The gnats were being taken care of by a simple apple cider vinegar trap, so I was hoping to finally catch flies with this device.
