Modern Sideboard, 3 Door (1499 x 406 x 864mm / 59 x 16 x 34in), Pecan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this piece, but it has some flaws. But at this price point, I’m willing to overlook. It is a classic modern design show piece and provides great storage. It’s pretty much a knockoff of the West Elm Owen’s sideboard. The doors are very difficult to align. I removed all 3 doors and rearranged several times. I learned that not screwing the hinges super tight was helpful. Also, make sure they are a few millimeters from rubbing against the bottom. Pros: Solid wood (no wood composite pieces) and the Pecan color is beautiful. No weird chemical/VOC smell Modern and clean appearance Cons: The center door does not align with the center opening. So, there is extra space on the left side. The wood is a bit soft and can be marked easily.

This item was received with the incorrect dowels and the shipping box was in pretty bad shape. We were lucky that the sideboard had no damage. I called concerning the dowels and asked for two dowels of the correct size. I was told that they don't do that and they would have to send me an entire sideboard to correct two dowels. That was unbelievable. I had ordered the sideboard and a side table at the same time. What they sent me was another table not a sideboard. I didn't need two of anything and I feel this is poor business. The customer service person when asked how I was going to ship the sideboard with missing dowels I was told to save it for spare parts. We love Plank and Beam and have ordered in the past and will continue to order as long as prices don't increase because you don't ship parts, just complete items when something is missing. Sideboard is together since we found some dowels and made them work. The doors were a pain to line up, but so far it is what I wanted and needed. The table was a breeze and both pieces look great. I do not need another table or sideboard in my small house. Product is good and worth what you pay for it.
