Mix and match parts to suit your needs.
I use mine in an XL big green egg. On a long cook I like to be able to see and access the fire. I leave half the grate off with a heat deflector under the grate that the food is on. I also use my “ slow n sear” drip pan from my Weber kettle under the grate. It sits on top of the heat deflector.

This product is great. Very shiny and be careful, it gets hot when you use it on the grill. If it was cooler it would be easier to handle. Also, it won't work on my stove and wish it would. Then it would be really versatile.
