Poor quality control

The lamp arrived with any extra 7 inches of cord that would not fit into the light socket as described in the instructions. I had to have someone cut off the cord and rewire a new socket in order to use the lamp. I did not send it back because it would take too long with too much "red tape". I live in PA and the company is in CA. Really? This should never have happened. I paid over $100 for a lamp that was not perfect. I am very disappointed with this company. I will not order from Lamps Plus again.
