Ideally I’d have liked this to be made of metal but it’s almost all plastic. However it’s pretty good quality plastic and I think it’ll do the job just fine, and to be fair it does say what it’s made from in the description so I’m not really complaining. It doesn’t feel flimsy or creaky like cheaper plastic phone mounts do. The spring mechanism is quite strong and once locked into position it has a really good grip on your phone, no chance of it falling out. So overall it’s well made and good quality.I’m not actually using it on a bike, I have it mounted onto a long pole at the other end of which is a 360 camera so I can use the phone to operate the camera via WiFi. It works really well for that and although I imagine it would also work well on a bike I haven’t tried and my application is probably a bit less demanding of it.There are several rubbery spacers supplied so it should fit most diameters of pole / handlebars quite easily.For what I need it to do, this is the best I’ve found.

We tested this bike phone holder on both a Honda motorbike and a road bike, using an iPhone 11 and iPhone 8 Plus. The phone holder comfortably held both phones securely. The body of the holder is designed to stretch to accommodate different size phones and coped well with both of ours, width and length. There is a also lock on the back to help secure the phone, working in conjunction with the stretch. A lock button that works well which isn’t always the case with some phone holders I’ve tested.The phone holder comes with a bracket and four rubber strips, designed to create a tight fit for the bracket on the handlebars. The design doesn’t actually prove as fiddle as other because the rubber strips are quite firm and therefore easier to align. The phone holder can be removed from the bracket by releasing a nut at the back of the phone holder. Fixing the bracket to the bicycle was a little easier than fixing to the motorbike. The phone holder keeps the phone steady whilst you are riding and was not affected by bumps in the road. We found it easy to follow directions on maps using the holder.  Phone can be had portrait or landscape.One clear disadvantage with this design is the lack of any protection from the elements. If you were caught in a rain shower and had a phone that isn’t keen on getting wet (most aren’t!) then this wouldn’t be the ideal holder. Overall I think a good solid phone holder.If this review has proved helpful, please do let me know by clicking the below ‘helpful’ button.
