Dye / Paint Issue

The design is highly functional. However this item has some type of dark silver dye that keeps comes off of it and stays on your hands and on any service that it touches. Even after being washed the dye continues to come off. Not sure why this is allowed to be a food safe product I don't feel safe having a strange paint like dye coming off in my food.
