It does not attach to the wall, you have to purchase additional wood to do that. The instructions are horrible, and the quality is below expectations. See photos of donuts in the wood, and the screws were too long and went through the roof. If it was not such a pain to try to return it, we would. We are using it over the dog run instead of on the deck because it was not anything like the description, and not sure how it's going to be in a rain storm.
