The Your Zone Soft, Oversized Teal Throw Blanket for Kids, 72 x 50 is not wider than a normal size throw but is longer. Its a beautiful color and so very soft and since its long it will cover even taller peoples feet which is a huge plus. I would suggest when washing to wash in cold water and dry on low or no heat to keep it from matting. You can see in my pictures after washing it with other like color blankets (none were fuzzy) and then drying them on high heat it did get matted. It still feels super soft but doesnt look quite as pretty,

I tend to run very cold, and this makes me warm but not overly hot when I use it in my office (work at home) or watching TV on my bed throughout the day. if you want a light to medium thickness, then this will work for you!
