This fits perfect right out of the box. I have a small 4 door sedan. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly and easy it goes on and comes off. It has elastic at the base but it also has as built in small ropes to secure it more tightly, probably for high winds and storms but I haven't needed to use that feature yet. I place it on the hood with the brandname facing the front and cover the mirrors first then secure it under the front then over the top and secure it under the back. I remove it from under the back, from over the top then from under the front then off the mirrors. I bundle it up inside-out and place it into the trunk. It is a quick process and that is important for me. I'm using the car daily, not storing it, so I don't want to have to go through a slow and difficult ordeal everytime I get into my car.
