Altra Escalante Racer 2 Road Running shoes For Men, White/Black

As a long time wearer of the original Escalante Racer I'm disappointed. The sole on the Racer 2 is very stiff and definitely thicker than the originals. You advertise these as having comfort, flexibility, and natural movement yet they are anything but. The sole on the original Escalante Racers is light years more comfortable and flexible. The positive is the upper on this is an improvement from the original; tongue stays put rather than drifting off to the side and the toe area is better structured, not showing any wear in the area where the tip/toenail of my big toes usually wears through overtime. You should take the new upper on the Racer 2 and combine it with the sole of the original Racers and you would have a truly great shoe that would never need any improvements. You fixed what was broken and destroyed what worked best. I won't be buying another pair of these, won't be putting 2,000+ miles into them like my originial Escalante Racers, and you most likely lost me as a customer. Stick to your roots and stop trying to imitate all the other brands.

I have been running in the original racers for many years and they have been awesome. The new racer 2 does not fit my foot well. I tried an 11.5 and 12. The 11.5 hurt my toes and the 12 was too roomy.
