The smell isn't over powering Thankfully bc who wants a dog smelling like lavender. The marketing ppl should change the scent it is the reason I almost didn't purchase. This does the job though keeping my dogs fur clean and smelling fresh for the time in between baths and comparable to other brands the price is reasonable.
