The darker shade of the gradient is significantly darker than the product photo. The chest size matches the product listing. The shirt is comfortable, comparable to another shirt I have from a well known brand. The sleeves are a good length. They add good sun protection to the hands, since there are thumb holes also. I did find the hood to have a little too much fabric. The $20 sale price is fair as it's consistent with national brands.

This Sun Shirt caught our eye because of the hood. We've always wanted something to cover the back of the neck when working outside. Draping long hair is helpful, but that gets too sweaty and screams to be put in a pony. Wide brim hats with neck flaps are helpful, but for our preferences, not practical. A thin hood that can both contain a pony and go under a ball cap sounded like the perfect solution. This top should be called a UNISEX sun shirt. It can be worn by anyone for a variety of outdoor activities. Let's look over our new yardwork shirt. We love the pretty gradient colors. The blue/green combo is awesome, and we also like some of the other blue gradients. We can't vouch for the UV protection until the next time we do some yardwork in the sun. We can only trust that the neck and arm coverage will help so that we don't come inside looking like a lobster. As far as sizing, the measurements are true to size for the Large. Close enough, really, as garments can be laid out differently to measure. We usually take L or XL in men's/unisex T-shirts, factoring for shrinkage, and since this fabric doesn't shrink, we felt that Large would be okay. It feels a bit big, even for our preference of slouchy clothing. Perhaps it's just this style of shirt. The body is loose-fitting and a tad long. The hood feels a little big, but it's alright. The sleeves hang really long. Like several inches past our hands long. But you know how when you raise your arms, sleeves always ride up? Well that's what puts the thumbholes in about the right position. The excess length then becomes baggy arms, with the hand-covering reaching all the way down the fingers. Hopefully that will tuck in when we put on gloves. Since fit is very subjective and the fabric is stretchy, we may have gotten away with sizing-down to a Medium, but for a yardwork shirt, our standard Large is okay. The fabric is silky, smooth, and lightweight like other quick dry fabrics we've seen. So it should be cool to work in, despite the irony of wearing long sleeves and a hood in the summer sun. Or winter sun, as it is in our area. The colors are likely printed on, as the inside is generic white. Washing was also easy. We tossed it in on cool, dried it on low, and all was well. We don't know if the UV properties will ever wash out. The tags don't specify whether the fabric is permanently woven UV or if it's just chemically treated UV protection. We see the phrase “resistance can achieve” so we suspect that it's just treated fabric. All things considered, this is a practical and colorful shirt for anyone who is out in the sun for work or play. It needn't be pushed so strongly as a man's shirt. Go ahead and get one ladies.
