Like other PPIs, Nexium 24HR acid blocker capsules may take 1-4 days to reach full effect, but relief lasts for 24 hours, letting you power through your day and sleep peacefully through the night without heartburn interruptions. 20 mg NEXIUM 24HR delivers greater acid suppression for a longer period of time than omeprazole, the leading ingredient in other OTC PPI brands (3). Don't let heartburn pause the moment. Stop acid before it starts with Nexium 24HR, in a clear mini pill.

Do not use if you have trouble or pain swallowing food, vomiting with blood, or bloody or black stools, heartburn with lightheadedness, sweating or dizziness, chest pain or shoulder pain with shortness of breath; sweating; pain spreading to arms, neck or shoulder; or lightheadedness, or frequent chest pain. These may be signs of a serious condition. See your doctor. Ask a doctor before use if you have had heartburn over 3 months. This may be a sign of a more serious condition. Ask a doctor before use if you have frequent wheezing, particularly with heartburn, unexplained weight loss, nausea or vomiting, or stomach pain. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking a prescription drug. Acid reducers may interact with certain prescription drugs. Stop use and ask a doctor if your heartburn continues or worsens, you need to take this product for more than 14 days, you need to take more than 1 course of treatment every 4 months, you get diarrhea, or you develop a rash or joint pain. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Adults 18 years and older. This product is to be used once a day (every 24 hours), every day for 14 days. May take 1 to 4 days for full effect. 14-Day Course of Treatment: Swallow 1 capsule with a glass of water before eating in the morning. Take every day for 14 days. Do not take more than 1 capsule a day. Swallow whole. Do not crush or chew capsules. Do not use for more than 14 days unless directed by your doctor. Repeated 14-Day Courses (if needed): You may repeat a 14-day course every 4 months. Do not take for more than 14 days or more often than every 4 months unless directed by a doctor. Children under 18 years of age: ask a doctor before use. Heartburn in children may sometimes be caused by a serious condition.

If I miss a dose of this medicine, I immediately get wicked heartburn. If i take it daily as directed, no problems. Walmart occasionally offers cashback on this product and the manufacturer attaches coupons which is great. I've tried other brands and Nexium is the only brand that works for me.

I have to take Esomeparzole Magnesium, aka Nexium. The Esomeprazole Magnesium medicine comes in generic form also. I have tried both, Nexium and GreatValue. If I go more than 36 hours without taking that medicine my heartburn and acid reflux rear their ugly and very painful heads. I can get 30hrs with the Nexium. However, the GreatValue brand seems to expire in 24hrs. The medicine says 24 hr relief so both do what they are suppose to do but the GreatValue brand is 1/2 the cost of name brand. But the Nexium will last @ 6hrs longer than the GreatValue. Tit for tat.

The brand Nexium works like a charm. I suffer from heartburn very badly and that is the only thing that works prevent it. I have tried the generic brand and it does not work at all for my heartburn. I appreciate Wal Mart carrying the brand.
