The peace of mind you get from a UL listed product is worth the extra cost in my opinion. Fan noise bothers my wife, so I run it overnight, but fan never gets hot, so I feel comfortable leaving it on while we are sleeping. Big difference in the taste of the water, and looking at the sediment makes me glad it is in the pot, and not in my body. Highly recommend.

Works well -- Good water

We opted for a better rated distiller and we are not disappointed. It is reasonably quiet, makes great distilled water and looks good doing it. We use about 2-3 gallons/week so we have to use it 2-3 times/week. We heard that it leaves a residue at the end of the distillation cycle, but that has not been an issue for us. We use filtered water to start with and the residue is negligible. Very small residue will be cleaned using its included cleaner in a month or so. We're happy with the purchase.
