Wish we would have bought sooner!

We have an AC in the bedroom and usually just put a fan by the door to spread the air into kitchen/fr. room and d. room. Worked ok, not great. Well, in the northwoods in Wisconsin, we actually had some 95 degrees and 76 dew point temps. Our one unit no longer handled it. After much research we went with the Amana 10,000 btu. I wish we would have done it sooner. We get immediate cool in the open plan kitchen/d. room and front room and we are not working the bedroom AC so hard. We can shut it off when we go to bed and just use the bedroom unit. It was rather quick to install, just had one glitch with a 1 in. ledge in the bottom of the window which prevented the adjustable venting piece from sitting properly. We just cut piece of tyvek like foam to fit in the bottom and it fit great. Window is about 32" wide so we had cut the adjustable piece that holds the duct in the window with a hacksaw which was easy peasy. In fall we just moved the unit which I could carry with the built in handles into a closet. Filters are easy to clean. Fan stays on when power is on to help eliminate water which can build up in the tray of the unit but we never had to even empty it. Unit will shut off automatically if it would fill up. Love the remote and the ability to set the timer to turn on (up to 9 hours I think) or to turn off.

Love it!!!

This ac is by far one of the best purchases ive made in years. I bought it after reading other reviews and knowing i was still taking a chance...so glad i took that chance!!! We have a 2bedroom apartment and it keeps the entire aptmnt cold!!! Love it and my landlord loved it so much shes putting them in all the other units!!! You wont be disappointed!

Excellent Portable Air Conditioner!!

I bought this unit to cool the upper level of my townhouse which is about 10-15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. It does a great job keeping the upper floor cool in the hot summer months of 90 degree weather with humidity. Noise of the unit is average, not overpowering. The unit puts out ALOT of cold air. Instantly can feel the cool when you turn it on. You can use it as a dehumidifier and normal fan as well. The fan blows strong. Convenient remote control function. I'd definitely recommend this to my friends and family.
