I recently started baking sourdough, and it is so hard to manually slice. It's either too thick, or completely uneven. This slicer will give you perfect slices every time, up to .8 inch thick. I've included a photo of the bottom of the wooden base, it seems with the right woodworking tools you could possibly move the guide out to get thicker slices. I didn't have a sourdough loaf on hand for my photos, so I tried it out on a homemade sourdough English muffin. Perfection! The base has four strong suction cups to hold it in place. On my quartzsite counter, it stuck tight and was hard to remove. My one and only concern is lack of a blade guard for storage. You definitely want to store this in a safe location, maybe packed in the original box.

I love this bread slicer! I struggle to slice my sourdough evenly but have limited kitchen space; so I've been trying to do without. I am so thrilled I tried this! It is so easy and fast and it fits right next to my waffle maker! There is no assembly required and comes with a tool to remove blade. It was packaged well, got here faster than expected (less than a week), is lightweight and small, adjusts easily and has powerful suction cups on the bottom.
