Though not fully assembled, I plan to use this in my cat catio and at 38 inches wide- I am sure my cats will have plenty of room to relax on it. It is rated for 200 pounds on the straps but I doubt the cats will break that barrier. The material is very strong and not weak. It appears to be well constructed and should hold up for many years here in California.
