"Emperor Yang Guang's ""Great Enterprise"" (Daye) appeared to be a struggle against water and fire, but fundamentally, it was a contest of power among aristocratic clans.
杨广的大业,表面上是水与火,实际上是世家博弈
This book is a historical novel that tells the story of the entrepreneurial process of the Tang Dynasty from multiple perspectives in the chaotic era of the late Sui Dynasty. It mainly covers the history from 605 to 626 AD. This book starts from the historical node where Emperor Yang Guang of Sui was assassinated in Jiangdu (Chapter 1), and in the first half, it takes the perspective of Li Tang as the main line, restoring the historical process from multiple angles from the perspective of the warlords. The second chapter → fourth chapter → seventh chapter serves as the main thread, mainly describing the process of Li Tang's founding of the country, pacifying the rear areas (Longyou and Hexi Corridor), and launching attacks from all directions throughout the country. And chapters three, five, and six, as subplots, shaped the images of Li Mi, Dou Jiande, and Wang Shichong, laying the groundwork for the subsequent capture of the two kings in World War I. In the latter half of the book, Li Shimin is taken as the main perspective, telling the story of his achievements in recapturing Hedong, pacifying Liu Wuzhou, and capturing the two kings in the Battle of Luoyang (Chapters 8-11), and completing the historical task of initially unifying the world at its climax. Starting from Chapter 12, the plot of the last three chapters of this book shifts from military warfare to political warfare, focusing on the conflicts between the father and son of the Li family. The narrative ultimately converges on one point and one person, namely Chang'an and Li Shimin, and detonates in the final chapter of the Xuanwu Gate Incident
