An Amazing Fantasy Film

Legend is visually and stylistically unique. I've never seen another film quite like it. Every scene looks like a moving painting. The characters are at the same time new but very familiar. The Lord of Darkness (Tim Curry) is amazing looking and absolutely steals every scene he's in. My favorite scene is between Jack (Tom Cruise) and Miss Meg Mucklebones (Robert Picardo). I think Legend looks great even in this age of Avatar and other CG driven films. I still have a love for the old latex effects so I'm biased here. I'm glad both versions of the film are included in this set. I like the Director's Cut the best but I like the music from the U.S. Theatrical version better. Brian Ferry's (Roxy Music) "Is Your Love Strong Enough?" is a great song. Once it gets in your head, it really sticks. I highly recommend this film!

An awesome product

I grew up watching the us theatrical release of Legend, with the Tangerine Dream musical score, and I wanted to buy it on DVD. I ended up actually buying the Director's cut with the Jerry Goldsmith musical score and was NOT happy. They'd ruined one of my favorite movies! So, I had to do some research and I FINALLY found the one I was looking for on Walmart.com. Legend Ultimate edition had both versions of the movie, and I was so happy with this product!

Great fantasy movie

The Legend dvd was everything that I remebered from viewing the cable airing in the 80's and more. The forest scenes were beautifully staged and Tim Curry's portrayal of the Dark Prince was great, from the tip of his huge horns to his hooved feet. The packaging was unique, a clear folder style with overlapping graphics. The two disc widescreen package was a pleasant surprise. I especially enjoyed the director's cut disc and the special features on the theatrical version disc. It's a great fairy tale movie with touches of darkness similar to the Grimm's fairy tales. Might be a little intense for pre-school or primary children. Then again that was the purpose of the Grimm's tales, scare children into behaving properly.
