Installation Notes:
1. First turn off the main water supply, open the faucet handle to release any water pressure and drain the line. Loosen the handle adapter screw and remove the adapter.
2. Remove the key stop and the adjustable temperature limit stop, then remove the stop tube and pull out the cartridge retaining clip with needle nose pliers.
3. Make sure the cartridge is in the open position, the notch on the valve stem should be facing up, remove the cartridge from the valve, you can also use the cartridge removal tool to pull out the cartridge.
4. Apply grease to the oval cartridges on both sides, making sure the grooves on the cartridge valve stem are facing up, then insert a new 1222 into the valve, reinsert the retaining clips to hold the cartridge in place.
5. Turn the cartridge to the closed position, the groove on the valve stem should face down, slide the stop tube, the adjustable temperature limit stop and the key stop. Done by reinstalling the handle adapter and handle.
