Twenty-three year old Solee loves her job dancing at Tommy's Gentleman's Club. She loves the lights, the stage, the eyes watching her, but what she loves most is the satisfaction she feels when she imagines her dead mother's disapproval. Before she died, Solee's mother was the director of an underground domestic violence shelter. Growing up Solee swore she'd never end up like the abused women her mother took in but when she decides to help a coworker (whose voice brought her to tears) pursue a singing career, Solee sets off a chain of events that force her into a violent relationship with a famous rapper. Now, in order to survive, Solee must remember that once her mother killed a man and unless she wants to end up dead at the hands of a lover, she might have to do the same.
LOVE YOU MOORE is a novel that examines domestic violence in a realistic way. It's a novel that doesn't sugar coat the bitter truths women have always been forced to swallow in silence. If you're a person who knows someone, or is that someone, who has ever experienced intimate partner abuse this novel is a must read for you! It's a novel you'll want to discuss with your daughter (if you have one) your mother (if you talk) and your grandmother (if she's still alive.)
