Practical for Play and Slumber
Purchased this loft bed for our 12 year old son, who loves almost everything about it. We prepared for this purchase and planned needing a lot of space for set up, especially for multiple people setting it up and moving around. It arrived fairly quickly, packaged well, and with all its pieces. It took longer than expected to assemble, some things were not labeled well and the instruction manual was a "book" with how many pages there were. All the pieces were packaged nicely and as long as we kept it organized, finding them was easy. The tools required are included, although towards the end, my husband got out his screw gun and had it finished up in no time. There was some moments we all had to step away from it just from it being tedious and a little frustrating. Once together we decided to put the lights underneath the loft as opposed to how they have them in the picture within the shelf. The bed does NOT include those lights that run across the top of the triangle frame, sadly. The bed is fairly sturdy and even after months of use, it is not very wobbly. My son decided to flip a few of his drawers to face the inside of the nook and everything still lined up just fine. Adults could use this, even the underneath is big enough for an adult, just a little cramped and short for sitting. We were hoping for a sturdier set of drawers, but they seem to do the trick, if they are handled with care. The felt like storage on the end of the bed bowed fairly soon after use. Bowed open, not like off the frame. The curtain has slim metal rods that hold it down but the stitching allowed one to come out and we just kept it out because it became annoying to keep putting it back in. Doesn't seem to affect its functioning much though. The ladder is padded, nice feature because so many loft style beds do not come with that luxury. The edges of the whole bed structure are all fairly smooth so no surprising scratches. My son loves that this bed provides so much in a room that has shorter ceilings and an odd layout, he really enjoys the extra space he has in his room and the little nook gives him more privacy when needed. Fun and useful! Not sure how long it will last him, but we have a younger son that could use it after so I imagine if taken care of, we will have it for years to come.
