A Wonderfully Exciting Season of Matlock

This season of Matlock contains many exciting episodes and marks the addition of Matlock's daughter, Leanne, to the series for the first full season. A new male investigator named Cliff Lewis is also introduced. There are interesting guest stars including Randy Travis whose singing is a delight and a unique episode in which Matlock serves on a jury. Matlock, Season 7, is a wonderful addition to the DVD library of every Andy Griffith and Matlock fan.

Matlock was Andy Griffith's favourite character

Ben Matlock, the singing, hot-tempered lawyer from Atlanta has become more than a household name. Matlock is shrewd, difficult at times and a miser. Yet his heart is in the right place. Unfortunately, the quality of the show decreases due to a rather unfortunate choice of co-actors with Clarence Gilyard Jr. and Nancy Stafford leaving the show. With Thayer replacing Stafford who had replaced Purl, the quality had already been downgraded and this even more with Thayer leaving and illness and old-age taking their toll on Andy Griffith. The series is nonetheless excellent and a landmark in TV history.
