OVERVIEW
The Bridgestone Potenza S-02A (N3) is a high performance summer tire made for passenger vehicles. It is the fourth approved original equipment tire of select Porsche vehicle models.
This tire has superb summer weather traction. In other words, it grips the road well in dry and wet road conditions but is not recommended for use in winter weather. This is made possible with the special tread compound used in the manufacture of the tire. The tire helps resist hydroplaning as the tread pattern's circumferential and lateral grooves channel water from below the footprint of the model. The tire is safer to be used in summer weather because of this.
The tire was manufactured using L. L. Carbon. The Long Link carbon creates a chain across the tire on the molecular level which enhances the structure of the tire. The tire's tread is strengthened this way, as the L. L. Carbon slows down the tread wear rate and prevents irregular wear. The forces of acceleration, braking and cornering are equally spread out across the tread area which makes the tire wear evenly. The tire's longevity is also the result of the reinforced internal steel belt structure of the tire, as it resists punctures. The tire is usable for a longer period of time due to these improvements.
The high speed performance of the tire is improved with its strengthened durability. The steel belt and spiral wrap reinforcements in the internal structure of the tire improve its durability and uniformity for high speed driving. The tire maintains its shape under the driving pressure and provides a safer driving experience by doing so. As the tire does not deform under the driving pressure, the driver can bring out its full speed capability while not losing safety.
The Potenza S-02A (N3) was manufactured using the O-Bead structure. The O-Bead structure is a single continuous strand of cable in the bead of the tire, which improves the tire's uniformity and its ride comfort. The tire absorbs the shock of driving thanks to this structure and, as a result, the road vibrations felt in the cabin of the vehicle are reduced. The tire offers a comfortable and smooth driving experience.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
