I recently repainted a side table The red chalk paint I had was too bright and clashed with a deeper red arm chair. The antique wax had just enough pigment to dull the table down to where it worked in the room. The wax is easy to apply, and you can vary the color by adjusting the amount of wax you remove after brushing it on.
