Starting off with the good, I got this for my 8 year old daughter to fit a tight space. it's exactly what she needed for storage and a workspace. cute for a girls room. Assembly instructions were easy to follow, and the parts were labeled in a sensible way. Sturdiness. Maybe it was an error on my part, but I had a hard time getting the pieces to fit tight. It retrospect, I was worried about overtightening the pegs into the particleboard, but I think I probably should have gone tighter than I did so the cams could pull tighter. right now there are a few tiny gaps and wiggle room in some parts that has mostly gone away now that the whole thing is together. The way the drawers fit on mine suggests that maybe the whole unit isn't square? but my daughter was so eager to organize all her stuff in that I couldn't flip it over to check my work. Even if I did put it together right, this desk is not exactly sturdy. You can't put anything heavy on those shelves or they will bend. the shelves are so narrow they can't fit a standard paperback. I wouldn't put anything too heavy in the drawers either. I could not get the keyboard try to sit right. The only connection points are to the desktop above it. there really should be another screw on the back so those side pieces are in the correct position. right now they splay apart so the keyboard tray falls out. I'm thinking about modifying the whole thing to be a real drawer rather than a keyboard tray. You kind of get what you pay for. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, and I wanted something this exact size with lots of storage. but I am a little disappointed at how flimsy feeling it is. Looks cute tho.
