This is really very pretty. I would strongly suggest ordering a larger size. The sequin band around the chest doesn't have a lot of "give", so it fits a little snug. Shirts of this type usually run a bit small anyway. My stepdaughter is a size XL in shirts (perhaps a size 16 in pants) and is about 5'9" tall. I ordered a 3X, believe it or not and it fits well. Hanging on the hanger, you would likely guess it was just an XL. If you are petite (perhaps 5'3" or under), you could likely wear it as a dress.

I would give this as a gift!
It's a very pretty top, I feel good wearing it. At 5'4" I could almost wear it as a sun dress. I was surprised that it was double layered below the waste, what nice quality! The fabric is nice and light.
