This measuring tape is just the right size for woodworking. I can cut my materials to rough size and then plane it to its final dimension. I keep multiple tapes at different pieces of equipment, but I mainly use the one that is in the pocket of my apron.

I've had one of these on my hip all day every weekday for the last 10 years or so. It's a great tape, no doubt. Gotta say though that I'm disappointed that the new ones are plastic. I have an older metal case tape and I love the heft it has. I'd urge Stanley to bring back the metal case tapes. Even if you up charge them and offer them as a “premium” line. I'll pay a little more for a metal case tapes vs a plastic one. I think a lot of us would. I'm sure the plastic will hold up for the most part, but I still like the metal version.
