Outstanding Laptop

the first impression - amazing. the screen is second to no-one. i use it mostly for web browsing, email and ms office and remote access to the servers (vnc, teamviewer). the sound is better than i expected from that small size, but not great. mine has 16gb of ram. as far as value goes, i bought it on a huge sale - for me value is 5. but otherwise, it is kind of expensive.

Great little laptop that packs a punch!

I bought this laptop a few days ago. It takes a little while to set up but once you do it has a pretty great set of features for the cost. The 12th gen Intel processor is very fast. Benchmarks show around 1650 single core and 7300 mutli core on geekbench 5. I have the i7 and 16gb ram and am very happy with that configuration. It will run warm and ramp up the fans quickly depending on the task. It can also run near silent and run for a long time if you are just streaming for example so it is well balanced. When you need the power it is there and when you don't it can sip the juice. Very happy with the performance in such a small package. The laptop is very compact and has very slim bezels. It uses fingerprint to log in and no windows hello camera. The build quality is very good for something this thin and light. The laptop deck has little flex. The finish looks good. The screen hinges are color matched and seem pretty firm for my use. The screen doesn't wobble or bounce around. The keyboard is really nice again for this size. Regardless of size it is one of my favorite keyboards. The backlight is bright and you can set the backlight to last as long as you want. The track pad is accurate but sadly it is not glass but plastic. The screen gets very bright and because of the OLED the colors and contrast are amazing. I wish it had a 1440p resolution instead of the 1080p and due to it being an Oled touchscreen there is some odd grainy pattern to the screen. It is not bad but it is there and present on all OLED touchscreens so just a trade off between LCD and Oled. For the color and contrast I will live with it. It is an amazing screen overall. I also like it being a touchscreen with glass. The speakers are good but their placement is not. Being on the bottom you have to be careful not to cover them up if using in your lap. That being said they have a good sound quality and volume. Having Dolby Atmos is a plus but you need to turn it on. Battery life is good for such a small device. As long as this laptop is durable I think it just might be one of my favorite Windows laptops in a while. Samsung did a really great job with the design. It also has a decent selection of ports with a usb c and thunderbolt port, a usb a port, 3.5mm headphone jack and sd card slot and HDMI. There is a bit too much bloatware but it can all be deleted. I think if you don't mind the smaller screen the Pro version really isn't needed as the speed on this device are very good. However the Pro should be a good bit faster and has a larger ssd option and larger screen option. Samsung has really been making good laptops and any complaints I had before like low volume and older processors they have addressed in this model. I prefer the all aluminum build that feels well made and not flimsy. You really can't go wrong with all you get. This model is well balanced with a lot of ports, Bright OLED screen, fast processor and large ssd, decent amount of ram, great keyboard, decent build quality. Highly recommend!

Great laptop, could have been better.

This is my 2nd review, but I do want to add some more details. The laptop quality feels very premium and lightweight. The tablet mode is also good with a bit of a slanted angle and artists might prefer this more, with a sturdy hinge, and it will work with a separate s-pen. The keyboard feels very premium, but for some reason I feel like the backspace button feels lighter than the rest, apart from that the backlighting is quite good. Along with the keyboard is the touchpad, which feels premium with a satisfying click and good sensitivity right off the box, and it definitely is somewhere in the microsoft and apple league. This laptop is quite magnetic to oils and such with the graphite color which you might not like, but most of my laptops have been like this and it is quite normal. The ports on this device is pretty good with a microSD card reader, a USB 3.0, HDMI, a headphone jack, but only 1 thunderbolt 4 port and then one normal usb-c port. The camera is mediocre and from the camera settings it is probably only 1MP. I find the fans quite whiny during normal tasks and might be loud on content creation, gaming, etc., but definitely quieter compared to the Flex2 Alpha. There is quite a bunch of bloatware on this device, but some apps like Samsung Notes, Flow, Book One might be useful. One thing I do want to point out is that the Multi-control only works on more mid-range to high-end tablets to be able to use them as a 2nd screen. Also, on Samsung Settings I wish you could have an option change the function keys where you can choose which functions to go first as I like having my device functions first instead of needing to hold the Fn key. The display is pretty good, but only at 1080p res which I find quite low, though it is using an AMOLED panel (which is expensive than the average LCD, QLED, or OLED panels) and you can change the color settings to DCI-P3 or others if you prefer a more color accurate display. I don't find the battery life quite great coming from a 14" laptop with a 2.8K OLED panel and an i5-1240P spec, but it is quite good and, in my experience, could last you 1-2 days. And lastly, coming back on the software, I noticed that on the new Windows update it is missing the new UI changes specifically the sliders for brightness, volume, etc., and I find this quite annoying. Overall, I'd say this laptop is pretty decent, but I do think they need to improve on their laptops and make it more worth for its price compared to other competitors out there.
