I bought this chair because my 94-year old mother needed the support of arms to get in and out of a chair. The cherry wood trim on the arms and lovely blue fabric at her desk was not as "severe" looking as I was afraid it would be. This was a good price on a quality product. She is a small person and this is a good fit.
