3M 4941 VHB Tape is a double-sided tape which utilizes a multi-purpose acrylic adhesive on both sides of conformable foam. The adhesive provides excellent adhesion to a broad range of high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and a wide variety of plastics, as well as plasticized vinyl.
Application uses include ABS support structure bonding, aluminum floor bonding, bonding door kick & seal plate, bonding glass to a metal oven door, bonding muntin bars to glass, bus body side panel bonding, channel stiffener bonding on truck bodies, commercial vehicle roof vent attachment, commercial vehicle trim attachment, extruded plastic channel bonding, interior rail car construction, nameplate attachment on commercial vehicles, rail car bonding metal stiffeners, and more.
If trying to bond to more porous substrates such as granite or marble 3M 4941 would be the recommended VHB to go with along with their 3M 94 primer product first on both surfaces bonding to. 3M VHB Tape provides the convenience and simplicity of a tape fastener and is ideal for use in many interior and exterior structural bonding applications. In many situations, they can replace rivets, spot welds, liquid adhesives, and other permanent fasteners.
