No More Knee Pain

I have always walked a lot and so I took it for granted that that was all I needed to do for exercise. And perhaps it was at one point in my life, but as I got older, it became increasingly obvious that I needed to up my game, so when the new, park opened along the river walk near my home, my husband and I eagerly purchased a ball and started shooting hoops there after our walks. It wasn't long, however, before I got a startling wake-up call. About a month into hooping it up almost daily, I experienced a disturbing pain in my right knee upon landing after a catch. I had never had such pain before, so I figured it was as a result of a faulty landing and that it would eventually go away, but it didn't. Instead, the pain got increasingly worse and began affecting my ability to move around normally. Getting in and out of a car was frighteningly painful. I tried various rubs, but nothing produced lasting results. Fortunately for me, it was around that time that I happened upon Suzanne Andrews Functional Fitness as I was scrolling through the TV channels and was happy to find that it consisted of functional exercises presented simultaneously in 3 levels - seated, beginner and intermediary. I sat upright on a chair and followed along, being grateful for such a program in the privacy of my home. Soon I transitioned from the chair to standing for the exercises, alternating between the intermediary and the advanced levels. Today I'm thankful and thrilled to report that I have absolutely no problem getting in or out of a car, that I now do the advanced level on most exercises, and that the pain in my knee has gone away. Functional Fitness Arthritis DVD has helped by: 1. Being a necessary reminder to take time for myself. 2. The comprehensive range of exercises appears to be a holistic approach to health. 3. It encourages me to focus on deep breathing and keeping my spine upright, both of which I now do more consciously while walking, sitting or when feeling stressed. 4. Following along with Suzanne and her staff keeps my spirit uplifted, as she makes jokes - even at herself - and offers practical advice.

Very Good DVD

Like the rest of us i'm not getting any younger and was tired of the doctor visits and trips to the pharmacy to try and get my arthritis under control. It had me under its control. My friend told me about this program on her local PBS station and how she just loved it. I bought the dvd to give it a try and am I glad I did. After three weeks of regular use and following the directions all the little nagging pains I had grown to live with began to disappear. I'm back out in the garden loving my flowers and I can actually play with my grandkids again for the first time in years. Ms Andrews is a delight because she teaches with encouragement and motivation instead of screaming at you. The three versions of each exercise they show is a real bonus so you can start at your own pace, even seated. Wonderful. I would recommend this program to anyone with arthritis who wants to feel better and not spend a fortune in the process. At less than $20 you can't go wrong. Very good dvd.
